Underground Pearl
Underground Pearl is the collaborative practice of artists Loren Beven and Katryn Saqui. Inspired by seaside poetics and nautical traditions, the beach is their main studio and exhibition space. Specialising in illuminations and magical transformations their locally sited practice engages with history in contemporary ways through forming unexpected relationships, prompting conversations, encouraging collaboration and connecting to the sea. Underground Pearl has worked with schools across Kent as well as with Deal Music Festival, Kent Autistic Trust, Strange Cargo, LV21, Prosper and Canterbury Festival.
