DAD RADIO #14 | (Re)framing Dover

DAD RADIO

DAD RADIO #14 shares an audio compilation by MA Narrative Environments students from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London documenting perspectives from their ‘Reframing Dover’ project undertaken in April 2021, which gathered micro-stories from Dover residents and visitors to consider how the town’s environmental, historical, cultural and social assets could be more widely recognised and promoted. DAD supported one of the cohort’s 6 groups of students as they carried out their research engagements.

Also featuring the track ‘Varne Bank’ from the EP Cantium by musician-composers Richard Bundy + Anna Phoebe who are commissioned for DAD’s Digital Festival 2021. Richard and Anna’s project, largely presented on Instagram via @cantiumarts, gathers material around 3 intertwined themes of movement-interaction-and connection relating to Dover, towards the compilation of a major new audio and work. Their music including the Cantium EP is available on all music streaming platforms.

The episode further showcases poetry from members of Dover’s Beach Bards group Caroline Fox Betts (‘Source’), Chris Burke (‘Ancient Hedge on Farnham Common’) and Simon Partridge (‘Awakening Clouds’), recorded in June 2021 at the Louis Armstrong Pub.

Curated, presented and produced by Louisa Love + Louise Webb for the DAD Digital Festival 2021 at www.dadonline.uk funded by Arts Council England. First broadcast on Dover Community Radio (DCR FM) on Fri 30th July 2021.
