Nozomi Watanabe
Nozomi Watanabe received a BFA from Joshi University of Art and Design, an MFA from Tama Art University and MA Fine Art from University for the Creative Arts. In recent years, she has expanded her work to create cross-media works including installations, videos, photographs, written works, and large-scale projects that use parallax and telescoping to take into account her interest in the history and possibility of human perception from an astronomical perspective.
Through exhibitions, art events, artist-in-residence programs in Japan and abroad, she presents many works that associate the magnificent outer space with the surrounding environment. She was nominated as a finalist in the 14th Arte Laguna Prize (2020), and awarded the Art and Culture grants by Nomura Foundation (2016) and the Art Encouragement Prize by Ayako Omura Foundation (2013).
