Christine Gist is a practising artist and independent curator living in Hastings, East Sussex who works along the south east/south coast and mainland Europe. She lived in the USA for many years where she received a BFA Sculpture from University of Washington, Seattle and an MFA Sculpture from Yale University School of Art, New Haven.

Her artistic and curatorial practice was concerned with temporary place-specific interventions and experiences which often took place outside a gallery context. She frequently used re-purposed materials and objects, animating these elements and the locations they inhabit to create alternative narratives.

Christine along with Clare Smith and Joanna Jones founded the first DAD partnership (2006 – 2008).
Christine passed in March 2025 leaving her son Damon his wife Sophie and grandson Aidan
