In this podcast, Louisa Love & Louise Webb talk to Folkestone-based artist Andre Verissimo AKA Local Foreigner about his ‘Just An Other Crossing’ project realised in 2021.
Just An Other Crossing is a sound & virtual reality work capturing and immersing its visitors in a journey across the English Channel on a small boat, looking at the human experience of displacement and movement in search of sanctuary. The uncertainty of the journeys taken and the fragility of our condition.
The 360° film was facilitated by photographer and film maker Manuel Vason in collaboration with Local Foreigner.
Local Foreigner emerged in 2015 from the tense and confused socio-political climate surrounding ideas of locality and foreignness, of belonging and being other.
