Dover Arts Development was delighted to co-host, Nature and Horticulture in Dover, with the National Trust at their visitors centre on the White Cliffs.

The event started with a short species identification walk with Mel Wrigley, resident ecologist with the National Trust, followed by a slide talk by artist and writer Simon Bill.
This was followed by a conversation between Mel and Simon and an open discussion with participants.
Simon Bill’s latest book, DOVER is a compelling mix of memoir, travelogue, and cultural
commentary that delves into the town and its surroundings in 12 essays.
This narrative comes to life through the accompanying series of 12 performative slide talks of the DOVER Book & Tour, fostering community connection and sparking new conversations about Dover’s identity.
The event was free and Kent apple juice was offered as refreshment – its exceptional quality is referred to in a couple of the essays in DOVER.
