IWD 2026

The DOVER Urban Room

March 8th 2026 once again brought a gathering of inspirational women, all of whom live or work in Dover, to celebrate International Women’s day in the Urban room.

All brought a vegan dish to share and after the pleasure of all being together in a shared space, eating the shared feast, each found someone they had not met before and after ten minutes introduced who they had just met to the group.

This introducing each other, no one introducuing themselves, around a circle of 30 brought another level of knowing and revlation to who was in the room.

This is the third year that Petra Mathews Crow and Joanna Jones have organised a IWD event – each with a slightly different choreography and some of the same women but some women there for the first time. As we find different ways to expand the circle – one thing that is certain is that Dover will not run out of inspirational women !

How glorious to be in good company once again with the awesome, amazing and gifted women of Dover. And what an honour to be counted among their number!

Thanks so much for Sunday – it was so lovely!  I’m so glad I could make it and look forward to next year’s do.
