Help make a woolly garland
On Saturday 19 May Katherine Moloney will be leading a pom pom and bunting making workshop in the Teen Curve, Dover Discovery Centre CT16 1P from 10am – 4pm. The workshop is open to everyone so do come along.
The completed pom poms will be part of a garland display to be hung above the entrance to the underpass going towards the seafront in Biggin street, along the Torch relay route.
The “garland” project is an extension of Bunting Forever, which was launched in July 2011 by DAD (Dover Arts Development) to make a mile of woolly bunting to hang in the town to welcome the Olympic Torch in July 2012. So far it has brought over 250 people together through craft and ¾ of the mile has already been made.
The bunting will be hung in Dover in early July so we need to have all the pennants by the end of May, to assemble them in time. If you are still knitting or have any pennants still with you, could you get them to us by Monday 28 May. They can be delivered to our wonderful facilitator Julie Bishop between 2pm and 4pm at Amina’s Café, 22 Biggin Street Dover on Monday 21st and 28th May.
