DAD Guardians: announcing Nicolas Deshayes

DAD Guardians are key to the developing organisational structure of DAD. Their function is summed up in the term ‘guardian’ and the means is through a non-formalised structure where each, as well as helping steer DAD, can continue working on projects with DAD. 

For this current phase of development we are very delighted that Charles Holland, Richard Bundy, Simon Bill & Edda Salander-Jones are  joined by Nicolas Deshayes.

Nicolas Deshayes is a French-born sculptor who has lived and worked in Dover since 2018. He was educated at Chelsea College of Art and the Royal College of Art, London.

His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Modern Art, London (2022), Le Grand Café, Saint Nazaire, France (2022) ; Le Creux De L’Enfer, Thiers, France (2021−22); FRAC Grand Large, Dunkirk, France (2021−22); E‑werk, Luckenwalde, Germany (2019); Pumphouse Gallery, London (2018); Basement Roma, Rome, Italy (2018); Glasgow Sculpture Studios, Glasgow (2015); Tate, St. Ives, Cornwall (2015); S1 Artspace, Sheffield (2013) and Transmission Gallery, Glasgow (2010).

He has been included in numerous international exhibitions at institutions and museums including the Belgrade Biennale, Serbia in 2021; Museo Ca’ Pesaro, Venice, Italy (2019); Museion, Bolzano. Italy (2019), FRAC Grand Large, Dunkirk, France (2018); FRAC Ile de France, Chateau de Rentilly, Bussy-Saint-Martin, France (2018); Tate St. Ives, Cornwall (2017); Drawing Room, London (2017); Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2016); Polish Institute, Berlin, Germany (2016); Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany (2015); Leeds City Art Gallery, Leeds (2015); Kestnergesellschaft, Hanover, (2015) South London Gallery, London (2014): and Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge (2013).

In the UK, his work is held in the Tate collection and the Arts Council collection, and he is represented by Modern Art, London.
