Spaghetti and chips…

Threading Together

I really wanted to make a stitched drawing of spaghetti because of the linear nature of it. The way that the lines of pasta act like a ball of wool, getting tangled up and slithering about. I like to leave lots of loose threads and I saw these as joining in with the tangled nature of the spaghetti. However I think the loose threads also act as the pasta sauce. I used 2 threads, a red and an orange, which merged together to give a tomato sauce colour.

I love chips. So I had to stitch a plateful! Plus tomato sauce to dip them in. Yum! (Rosie James)
