Summer Sundays’ Sizzling Sausage
Summer Sundays’ Sizzling Sausage Smell was the thought that came to my mind when I first heard about this project.
Growing up in London, my parents, brother and I would always go somewhere green and spacious with lots of fresh air on summer Sundays. It could be an inner London park or somewhere just on the outskirts. We would spend all afternoon running, playing ball, paddling in a pool; and we always had sausage and mash when we returned home tired out and very hungry. I remember the enticing aroma of sausages sizzling as it filled the kitchen, making me even more hungry and impatient to sit at the table and taste that first succulent bite. Whenever I smell it now, even if it’s only through the open door of a cafe, it takes me right back to those lovely childhood days.
