MAKE A SHORT FILM IN A WEEKEND: free workshop for deaf and disabled film makers aged between 14 and 26 living in the Southeast

When: 24th and 25th July 2010

Dover Arts Development is running a workshop for young deaf and disabled filmmakers* as part of Dover’s Cultural Olympiad programme focused on film. The workshop will take place in Dover at the KETV production studios over the weekend of 24-25 July 2010.

You will learn to use uScreen’s online storyboarding and editing tools and by the end of the weekend you will have made a short 3-minute film which you will upload to the uScreen site.  uScreen is a new local, regional and global gateway for young deaf and disabled alongside non-disabled young people from the South East to share their stories and ideas through Screen Media.

Over the weekend you will have an opportunity  to take part in other Cultural Olympiad events including DAD’s screening of artist’s films and an opportunity to meet the filmmakers.

Your film will also be featured on the BBC LOCOG Big Screen in Dover at a later date.

* will be open to non disabled participants if there are free places

The workshop and exhibition opportunity are part of the uScreens Accentuate programme,funded by Legacy Trust UK and SEEDA and managed by Screen South, the regional screen agency for the South East. Additional support is being provided by Dover District Council.
