Howard Skempton in Dover

The DOVER Urban Room

 

Folkestone New Music partnered with DAD on a house concert on April 12th 2025 with Howard Skempton and his simple accordian for 25 people in the Urban room.

It was the first visit of Folkestone New Music to Dover and the launch of an exciting new series of events.

Howard is one of the most beloved figures in classical music.  Admired by students, fellow composers and audiences alike, he had done it all in a long and distinguished career.  It is never quite clear which direction Howard’s events will take – but there will be profound ideas, plenty of humour, surprises and the most charming music making.
