Celebratory meal to mark completion of the Table
On Thursday 21 July, we organised a celebratory meal to mark the near completion of the Peace Table. The meal consisted of potato pancakes with meat or cheese cooked by the Cook & Chill chefs at the Old Sorting Office following a recipe donated by Alina Darozhka. These were accompanied by various pickles and there was plenty of Polish beer to wash it all down. The Eastern European theme was in honour of Brancusi, the inspiration behind the Table. The guest list included all those involved in this phase of the project, as well as Robin Lang who later helped transport the Table to the market square, Andrew Hewitt who gave some valuable advice on how to move it and Lucien Cirlig, a lorry driver from Romania who was passing through Dover.
