6 miles, 3 hours, 22 minutes, 12,000 steps…
Today I did my longest Miners’ Trail walk so far.
Shepherdswell –> Elvington –> (Tilmanstone) –> Eythorne –> Shepherdswell
6 miles
3 hours
22 minutes
3 breaks
5 points of disorientation
12,000 steps (give or take a few hundred)
I was documenting my walk simultaneously between voice, text & image.
I realised that the process of the walk was not just about encountering a landscape and a history and a personal sense of space, but of documenting and memorialising that encounter.
Documenting fragments of an experience
to re-enact, re-encounter, re-compile, re-document.
