Charles Holland Architects (CHA) is an architecture, design and research practice based in Dover. CHA’s work ranges in scale from the urban masterplan to the residential interior. Clients include public organisations, local authorities, museums, schools and galleries as well as commercial developers and private individuals. CHA design buildings, spaces and places including houses, schools, galleries, exhibitions and public artworks. 

The practice is led by Charles Holland, a former director of FAT Architecture. As a FAT Director, Charles led a number of the practice’s key projects including A House For Essex, a collaboration with the artist Grayson Perry. Having left London for east Kent in 2016, Charles based his new solo practice in Dover where CHA are involved in a number of important local projects. Charles is also a teacher and writer, a professor of Architecture at the University for the Creative Arts, Canterbury and the author of a forthcoming book called How To Enjoy Architecture.
